From London Dry Gins that are crisp, juniper-forward spirits made by redistilling neutral grain spirit with botanicals, while Jenever (or Genever) is a richer, malty spirit from the Netherlands and Belgium with a malt wine base that is more similar to whiskey, and predates London Dry Gin, and is traditionally drunk neat.

The key differences lie in their production, base spirit, and resulting flavor profiles, with London Dry Gin being lighter and drier whilst Jenever is typically fuller and more complex with malty, grainy, and sometimes woody notes.
