Made with unpasteurised milk from a local goat herd, Waterlip is a take on the  classic brined feta cheese. Full flavoured and with a fresh lactic tang, Waterlip is gently crumbly but with a pleasant creaminess, while retaining feta's characteristic salty edge.

The Newt's cheeses are all handmade at The Creamery, their dedicated dairy located next to Castle Cary station.

Resurrecting a former milk factory first built in 1912, The Creamery is where they put their own spin on West Country dairy traditions, using beautiful fresh milk that from local herds, including their own water buffalo.

Use Waterlip as you would a traditional feta — crumbled over salads, drizzled with oil and fresh herbs as part of a grazing lunch, baked in the oven with cherry tomatoes, red onion and green peppers, or to finish pastas, soups, bakes and stews.

What to drink with Waterlip Feta Goats Cheese ....  partner with our Lobster Reef Sauvignon Blanc, where the citrusy pairing cuts through the richness. Another to try is a Loire Valley Sauvignon, Sancerre. Dry Riesling is another top choice, as its acidity and fruit balance the brine of the cheese. Vermentino is also another popular partner, as this aromatic Mediterranean white complements the herbaceous notes in feta.

For Rosé and Sparkling wine drinkers, we recommend our Babylonstoren Rose, as it provides freshness with enough body to stand up to the salty, rich cheese. Like Sparkling wines..... then choose your favourite from our Champagne, Prosecco, or Cava ranges, as they will provide effervescence that cuts through the creaminess.

Spirit drinker? Then pair the herb-marinated feta for a refreshing contrast with one of our Gins, just add tonic. Feeling brave, then its Ouzo: The anise-flavored Greek spirit is a natural, traditional pairing.

Beer drinkers, enjoy with a Pilsners, one of our lagers, or light wheat beers.
