Seifried Sweet Agnes Riesling is one of New Zealand?s most highly awarded and famous dessert wines, having won 17 trophies, two Platinum Medals and an astounding 48 Gold Medals during its illustrious history. Produced in the Nelson region by one of New Zealand?s oldest wineries, this extraordinary vegan-friendly wine is made from hand-selected Riesling vines aged between 10 and 30 years old. The grapes were picked at the peak of ripeness with a large portion of the fruit shrivelled and raisined by natural dehydration. The grapes then are gently pressed to release a very concentrated intensely flavoured juice which is carefully vinified over a long period of time. An incredibly intense nose suggests aromas of succulent ripe apricot and marmalade-like candied orange peel, as well as fragrant spring floral notes. The palate has a full and luscious ripe stone fruit quality with subtle honeyed undertones and touches of spice. Beautifully balanced natural acidity runs throughout the palate and imparts a fresh, clean finish which is long and evolving.
