In 1814, Chile was in the throes of a civil war and 120 soldiers sought refuge in Santa Ritas cellar. A century later, they`re still maturing wines in those same cellars. The 120 range was created to commemorate this legend. Its also a testament to Santa Ritas legacy in Chile. 

Santa Rita 120 Merlot is a delightful Chilean red wine, rich in lustrous, ruby hues. Its enchanting aroma is an intoxicating blend of fruits and herbs, most notably plum, raspberry, and strawberries, which pair flawlessly with an earthy hint of thyme.

On the palate, this medium-bodied merlot is smooth, rounding off with a pleasingly persistent finish. Aged expertly in oak barrels, it beholds layers of complexity and delivers an extraordinary balance of fruitiness and structure. Santa Rita 120 Merlot wine is a true testament to the excellence of Santa Rita winemaking techniques. This is a masterclass in Merlot. Its got that red-fruit ripeness that's typically Chilean, and a lovely full-but-smooth texture. 

The perfect choice to go with lighter meat dishes, or even richer fish like monkfish or salmon. This juicy, fruit-driven red shows intense red fruit aromas, backed by floral notes and a hint of vanilla; the palate is smooth with ripe fruit flavours. About a fifth of the wine is aged in French oak barrels for about six months to build complexity into the palate.
