HUGEL CLASSIC RIESLING ALSACE 75CL 12.5%

Hugel are one of the wine dynasties of Alsace, established in 1639. Today the 12th and 13th generation of the family continue to produce exceptional Riesling. And plenty of attention to detail goes into making Hugels signature wine. 

Made exclusively from hand harvested grapes from predominantly clay and limestone vineyards, in a dozen of the most favored localities in and around riquewihr, this wine is dry and elegant, it expresses itself best on the steepest slopes with the most complex minerality. Grapes are hand-harvested from vines averaging 35 years old – adding complexity – and plans to become certified organic are underway. This elegant bottling couldn’t be more typical Alsace, with its aromas of apple, pear and citrus.

With that underlying minerality and vibrant acidity, wines also don’t get much more food-friendly. This riesling stands out for its finesse and frankness and is the ideal partner to fish and seafood thanks to its freshness and balance.
