Gilbert Miclo founded the Miclo Distillery in 1965 in Alsace and has since become established as one of France?s leading producers of eau-de-vie ? also known as fruit brandies. Miclo?s reputation has been built on the incredible fruit purity and expressiveness that is captured in these spirits, which are generally enjoyed as digestifs. This Kirsch is a cherry eau-de-vie from Miclo, which is made using a base of cherries and maturing spirit, and aged for a minimum of four years before being bottled. Aromas of crushed cherries, toasted almonds, violets and an edge of nuttiness are suggested on the nose, while the palate delivers layer upon layer of intense cherry flavour which climax in a long and very smooth finish.
