dark and brooding, rich and gamey. A blockbuster of a Wine! The legendary wine of Lebanon. Sweet on the nose with aromas of cherry and strawberry preserves. Prolonged aeration reveals smoke, vanilla, and toast notes and lush, smooth tannins that linger elegantl Try it with grills and rich casseroles. Full of ripe fruit, cherries, blackcurrants and cranberries with liquorice notes. More earthy, brambly fruit on the palate with blackberries, blueberries and cherries amongst the spice. The wines of Chateau Musar are unique expressions from a country with an ancient winemaking culture, as vines have been cultivated from Lebanon's high altitude Bekaa Valley for over 6,000 years. The Hochar family?s philosophy of respect for the environment means that the 180 hectares of Musar vineyards are managed with minimal human interference and all the wines are made naturally. Chateau Musar was founded in 1930 by Gaston Hochar. In 1959, after studying oenology at the University of Bordeaux, his son Serge became winemaker. Musar has long been Lebanon?s most successful wine export, producing vintages of incredible complexity and impressive ageing potential. Over the last 60 years, under the guidance of wine legend Serge Hochar, and now his sons Gaston and Marc, Musar continues to triumph over adversity. Equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan and Cinsault, this is a wine constructed at a snail?s pace. Each individual element is fermented and aged separately, spending its first 12 months in barrel. After three years the wine is blended and aged in the Musar cellars a further three years prior to release. At six years of age, its exotic, heady perfume aromas have begun to develop, and the spicy, red-fruited flavours are already so seductive. There is no wine quite like it. Viticultural roots in Lebanon go back over 6000 years. Ch?teau Musar is a uniquely different wine from in the Bekaa Valley, produced by master winemaker Serge Hochar. Top quality luxury in a glass. Grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon/Carignan/Cinsault.
