CHATEAU DU MOULIN ROUGE HAUT-MEDOC 75CL 14.5%

Owned by the same family for 13 generations, Chateau du Moulin Rouge is a small but perfectly formed Cru Bourgeois estate which lies in between Margaux and St Julien.

18 hectares are planted with 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc, vines are on average 40 years old. Aged for 12 months in French oak, only around 8,500 cases are made.

Generous ripe black and red berry fruits alongside spice and oak. Intense palate with good concentration of fruits and elegant tannins.

A cru bourgeois superieur estate located 35 km from bordeaux along the route des chteaux in cussac-fort-medoc, just 6 km from margaux and bordering saint-julien. (Crus bourgeois is a quality classification for red wines from the m?doc region in bordeaux, France, representing high-quality, reliable, and often great-value alternatives to the expensive 1855 classified growths. These wines, mostly merlot and cabernet sauvignon blends, are vetted for quality, consistency, and sustainable practices.

Pair your Chateau du Moulin Rouge Haut-Medoc with classic, rich red meats like grilled ribeye steak, roast lamb, or beef Wellington. Its dark cherry, savory spice, and structured tannins also beautifully complement gamey dishes such as roast duck, Coq au Vin, or herb-crusted pork loin.

Cheese wise, enjoy with out Comte: A staple pairing for a mature red Bordeaux. A slightly aged version is sweet and nutty, softening the wines tannins. Goes especially well with our Gruyere, as the cheeses rich, complex flavor complements the graphite and herbal notes often found in Haut-Medoc wines. 

Gouda: Our aged Gouda with its caramelized sweetness is an excellent match for this wines ripe, dark fruits.
