BABY CORNISH YARG 1KG

A cheese similar to Caerphilly but with a distinctive coating of nettle leaves. A moist, slightly crumbly English cheese with creamy, lemony notes and a mushroom flavour under the rind. Beautifully wrapped in edible nettles, hand-picked in nearby woodland and frozen to remove the sting. The citrus tangy taste in young cheeses mellows out after maturing, and the aroma is very gentle and subtle. 

Cornish Yarg is made by hand at Lynher Dairies in Cornwall, by Catherine Mead.

It takes its name from Alan and Jenny Gray who discovered the old recipe for nettle-wrapped cheese - Yarg is Gray spelt backwards. Pairs well with dry cider or sparkling wine.
