Collection: Janneau Armagnac

Janneau is not just one of the oldest of the great houses but is also the world’s leading brand of Armagnac. Armagnac is the oldest of the French brandies, and likely one of the oldest spirits in the world, with evidence of distilleries from the 14th century. Maison Janneau is the oldest of the great Armagnac houses, founded in 1851, and undisputedly the leader in the UK.

The regulations defining Armagnac allow production using either continuous distillation or double distillation in pot stills. Janneau produces brandy using both methods, then blends them together to produce an Armagnac with unique characteristics not found in any other.

Key to the quality of Janneau’s Armagnacs are its distillery and cellars in Condom, an ancient city located in the heart of the Armagnac region.

Uniquely, Janneau are the only major house that distils, blends and ages its own stocks under its own roof. Having access to their own distillery gives Janneau complete control over the quality and personality of their Armagnac.
