Truly great stuff from the innovative de Haan Altes team. They`ve snapped up some top-quality organic vineyards in the heart of Castilla in central Spain, known for it`s old vines and traditional practices.

Syrah Tinto El Convertido is an organic red wine that is deep ruby red in the glass. Dark berry fruit aromas on the nose follow through on the palate. The wine has a juicy berry core with a silky feel in the mouth and a refreshing finish. 

This red is so approachable, soft yet rich and ripe with deep concentration of soft berry fruit flavours and gentle tannins with a touch of spice, not unexpectedly a wine for all seasons. A very quaffable wine indeed.

The vineyard is located 180km from Madrid and is planted on sandy clay soils with poor organic content, rich in limestone and chalk. These modern, fruit-driven wines punch well above their weight in price-quality terms. 

They are all sealed under screw cap for ultimate freshness, reliability and convenience.

What to eat with El Convertido Syrah? At its best with duck or game, but great with bold, savory dishes like grilled lamb Rump or Sirloin or Rump steaks, hearty stews, roasted Mediterranean vegetables, or rustic sausages, as its rich, full-bodied nature matches strong flavors, while its earthy, peppery notes complement spices like black pepper, rosemary, and thyme.
