CHATEAU CARREYRE MARGAUX 75CL 13%

This wine comes from a boutique winery established in the great terroir of Margaux. Elegance, finesse and purity typical of the Margaux AOC. Fruit-driven and pure, with a mix of mulberry, red currant and damson plum notes, laced with espresso-tinged toast and backed by light savory hints on the finish.

The 60% new wood barrels bring complexity. Merlot 70%, Cabernet Sauvignon 70% 20% Petit Verdot 10% Cissac.

Cheesewise, the robust structure, firm tannins, and complex fruit and cedar notes of a Margaux stand up well to the rich, nutty, and savory flavors of our aged cheeses. 

• Aged Cheddar: A sharp, mature farmhouse cheddar is an excellent match, as the wine's tannins balance the cheese's fat and intense flavor.
• Comté: This strong, flavourful French cheese is a classic regional pairing with red Bordeaux.
• Manchego: A hard, salty, and dry-textured Spanish sheep's cheese provides a perfect foil for the wine.
• Parmigiano Reggiano: Mature Parmesan (up to two years old) can also be a delicious match.
• Aged Gouda: Nutty and slightly sweet, an aged Gouda like Beemster XO complements the wine's fruit notes and complex character.
