Some people describe this cheese as Britains best organic Cheese! Others say, Oh my word, this is quite simply divine. We say its a washed rind cheese with a gorgeous undulating orangey rind that looks similar to Vacherin Mont dOr. Its washed with cider, and the taste is comparatively mild when young, but develops a stronger pungency with maturity.
Golden Cenarth is similar to the famous smelly French cheese Epoisses de Bourgogne so it is simply stunning when enjoyed with aromatic wines from Alsace and Germany or with a lovely cool cider.

What to drink with Golden Cenarth? Wines from the Alsace region, such as our Hugel Riesling or an oak-aged Chardonnay are popular. One of our fruity young Burgundys or Beaujolais (made from the Gamay or Pinot Noir grape varieties) works well as well.
Feeling adventurous, then for a stronger pairing a single malt whisky (Our Penderyn, Ancoc 12 Year or Dalwhinnie 15 year) can enhance the smoked and savoury notes. If you’re a beer drinker, then enjoy a lager or a cool-climate beer; this provides a great contrast to the earthy, woody flavours of the cheese.
