Musar Jeune Red is a deep scarlet colour with a beguiling, smokey, black fruit nose, showing rich blackberry and mulberry notes tinged with spice. A good concentration of pure, black and red cherry fruit on the palate is supported by a juicy, fresh acidity. The climatic conditions, in particular the heat, this year favoured the Syrah which showed a great concentration of colour, taste and aromas. The Syrah vines were planted in 2001 and they now have enough age to provide greater complexity and power.After fermentation and a period of maturation, the three grape varieties were blended in March 2019, then rested in concrete vats before being bottled during the summer.Why we like this wine; Chateau Musar has become something of an icon wine over the last decades yet such is its price these days for mature vintages, this youngster gives everyone the opportunity to see what all the fuss is about before breaking investing in its bigger brother. It is made with the same care and affection but is like a watercolour painting to an oil. Both can be great art but one is more imposing than the other at times.?Good value for the Chateau, Ripe and juicy. Designed for early drinking. This Lebanese red is ripe and juicy in style, unoaked and has an abundance of cassis, raspberry and cherry jam flavours that are balanced by mouth-watering tannins and a lingering spicy finish. This Cinsault/Syrah/Cabernet Sauvignon Blend is delicious served with lamb koftas and roasted root vegetables.
