Cafe Shop Serving Staff; No Vacancy's, but please send in your CV!

Reports to; Shift leader

Hours of work; Flexible, will include alternate Saturday and Mondays and up to 5 days per week. Additional hours required in the busy Christmas period, and to cover staff holidays or illness.

Cafe; You will be involved in all aspects for the Cafe. This is an opportunity for you to make your mark and showcase your talent.

Required experience and skills; Ideally someone with a hospitality back ground, This position involves a wide range of tasks, primarily serving Cafe and Shop customers. Additionally, you may be required to process web orders, along with moving and replenishing stock, and carrying out housekeeping and cleaning activities according to set procedures. You should also be numerate, with good communication skills. 


What you will do ... the jobs diverse, with a wide and interesting range of tasks. You will oversee the Cafe front of house, and ensure all standards are maintained. This will include training staff and developing new concepts for the outlet.

In the Cafe, you will care for our customers, ensuring they experience the best dining experience possible. You'll have an eye for detail, impeccable timing, and delight in delivering outstanding service.

In the shop, you will care for our products from the moment they arrive until they are selected for sale. Ensure that our fresh produce reaches the customer at the right level of maturity, and in the best possible condition. You will be responsible for fulfilling orders from our web site: selecting, cutting, wrapping, labelling and packing cheeses, deli and shop items. You will maintain accurately all required technical information (descriptions, information sheets, specifications) and will be scrupulous and vigilant with regard to all aspects of recipe maintenance, food safety, hygiene, and Health & Safety, and follow the jobs set procedures.

You will be responsible for opening and closing the shop, and dealing with, and maintaining customer inquiries. 

Desirable experience skills and qualifications; Previous work in food service or retail an asset, but a willingness to learn most important. You will be passionate about Cheese, Chocolates, Wines and fine foods, and like to share your knowledge.

Duties & Responsibilities; 

  • Responsible for serving and delivering outstanding customer service to our Cafe, shop and web customers. 
  • Strive to satisfy all our customers 
  • Strong selling skills required 
  • Maintaining correct display in your cabinets, and ensuring the retail areas are merchandised correctly 
  • Ensure correct recipes and procedures are followed at all times 
  • Receive and process delivery’s according to procedure 
  • Clean responsible areas as detailed in daily/weekly job sheets
  • Proactively interact with customers 
  • Provide and manage customer tastings 
  • Work quickly and efficiently, always with a view to costs and profit
You will be focused on delivering consistent, outstanding customer service. You will need to have a flexible and positive approach to tasks, work well under pressure, and enjoy a varied selection of tasks through the day. You will be responsible for opening and closing the shop, including cashing up and banking as required. 

Hours; Various Hours and shifts available, subject to Cafe requirements

Work environment; Cafe, Shop and/or storeroom based, dependent on shifts.

Hours of work;  Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Additional hours required in the busy Christmas period, and to cover staff holidays or illness. Between 3-5 Hours a day

Pay; relevant to experience

Start Date; ASAP

Location; Our Café, You will be assisting in many aspects of our kitchens operation. Theres a lot of preparation, and a even more dishes that need washing and polishing. Once thats out of the way, you'll be involved in basic food preparation, and drinks service.

Required experience and skills; Ideally someone with previous kitchen, baking and pastry experience, but would suit anyone with a keen interest in preparing food, and always working to the highest standards. 

You are a self-starter, and take pride in doing a great job, from prep to production and service, to working clean and following set procedures and methods. You should be reliable, numerate, with good communication skills and want to contribute to the cafes success.

Desirable experience skills and qualifications; Previous work in a commercial kitchen, Café, Bakery or Patisserie preferred, but consideration will be given to suitably interested candidates; a willingness to learn is most important. You will be passionate about Cheese, Chocolates, Wines and fine foods, and keen to learn more.

  • You are Conscientious and delivery maximum effort
  • Maintaining correct work practices and methods are followed at all times
  • Receive and process delivery’s according to procedure
  • Clean responsible areas as detailed in daily/weekly job sheets
  • Proactively interact with customers when required
  • Work quickly and efficiently, always with a view to costs and profit
  • Open and close kitchen/work station, ensuring correct work, safety and cleaning procedures are applied

You will be focused on delivering consistent, outstanding food and customer service. You will need to have a flexible and positive approach to tasks, work well under pressure, and enjoy a varied selection of tasks through the day. You will be responsible for opening and closing your section, and must work well within a team.

Hours; Various Hours and shifts available, subject to Cafe and Kitchen requirements
