Delivery Information from The Cheese and Wine Shop

Delivery ...

The Cheese and Wine Shop delivery Service will.....deliver your parcel/s safely and securely using our courier UKmail. In the event there is no one in, the courier is asked to leave the parcel in a secure location, or with a neighbor. The Courier is asked to leave a card in the letterbox. This card will provide depot contact details for you, or the recipient to collect the goods.

Our Courier Service allows for 1 delivery attempt, so is vital that there is someone in, or details are provided for them to leave it with a neighbor. If there is no one in, the driver should place a card in the letterbox with instructions on where the parcel can be collected from. If you or the recipient collects the goods, there is no additional charge.

Once you have selected your preferred delivery day, we will do our utmost to ensure it is delivered then, but please note this is NOT a guaranteed service.

At Christmas, please allow 1-2 days either side of your preferred date, although most deliveries will arrive as scheduled. You will receive an email when the parcel is dispatched, and this will advise your delivery day.

Please be proactive and if the parcel hasn't arrived contact UKmail through the tracking information supplied from Ukmail, or email us with your order number and we will contact UKmail. This process can take upwards of 1 day during Christmas.

In order to ensure that your order arrives on time the following points will assist us achieving the most efficient service possible. When providing delivery details, please ensure a full delivery address and contact detail is provided.

Summary of Delivery information required:

Please help us to make delivery a smooth process by providing the following information when checking out; failure to do so could delay delivery!

  2. Full address, with house Name and number. Click here to visit the Royal Mail website to check postcodes. (Opens in new Window)
  3. contact phone number, including mobile

  5. confirm that someone will be in on the delivery date; if not....
  6. we must have a safe place to leave if no one is in. Read here for terms.

If there is no one in, the driver will leave the parcel with a neighbor if possible. They will place a card in the letterbox advising them at what address the parcel has been left. If this isn't possible, they will place a card in their letterbox advising them how to collect the parcel.

Chilled Goods:

Any parcels that contain Chilled goods must be delivered with our "Priority Service", and a signature is required on delivery, so please ensure that someone is in to receive and sign for your parcel. It is very important to ensure somebody will be at the delivery address to accept the parcel - we are happy to deliver to places of work if more convenient. If this is difficult, another option is to instruct us to leave your parcel with a neighbor, but do please ensure they know about it!

Alternatively, you can tell us to leave the parcel/s in a secure, dry, safe place at the delivery address. (If selecting this option, the Parcel/s are left at your risk, as understandably, UKMail and The Cheese and Wine Shop can`t be responsible for items left unattended.)

It is worth noting that when Customers have asked that their Parcels are left "in the Front Porch", or behind the BBQ, we have never had a problem.

So in summary, we need .... that for any Chilled items ordered, delivery must be on our Priority service, and there must be someone in to sign, or authorization to leave the item/s in a dry, secure location, or with a neighbor.
