SOMERSET CIDER BRANDYThink Cider, think West Country then you`re not far off from thinking Somerset Cider Brandy. The first written records of Cider Brandy in Somerset go back to 1678. Recently, however, there has been a revival of interest, led principally by the Somerset Cider Brandy Company, which in 1989 was granted by HM Customs the first full cider distilling licence in recorded history.
Not to be missed are Somerset Cider Brandys Martock Cherries in Eau-Di-Vie, a gastronomic delight, and the "Hix Fix", both available here at The Cheese and Wine Shop. |
