Figue à la Rose, from Provence is so named due to its shape, which resembles a fig. Monsieur Laurent sets this cheese slowly, before gently soaking it in rose-scented oils and dusting it with rose petals, so creating the delectable milky and rose flavours of this fresh goats' cheese.
More about Fig a la Rose Cheese ... During the ripening process, it is regularly bathed in essential oils giving it a beautiful aroma of milk and rose. The pate, which is white, wet and soft, tastes slightly sour. After a month of affinage, Figue becomes sticky and the flavor, full-bodied. It can be eaten with a salad or at the end of a meal. Rose wines of Mourvèdre or Grenache grapes pair well with this cheese.
